Kingdom of Gwythia Map
Been busy on game art this weekend, as Greg and Kit gets the next Fool's Moon book ready for print in the next week or so. The Kingdom of Gwythia is the second regional book for Mhar and, despite its title, looks at two kingdoms. The first and larger of the two, Gwythia, is a Celtic kingdom modeled on Medieval Wales while its smaller neighbor Frisia is partly modeled on Anglo-Saxon England in a "what-if" presuming that 1066 didn't go the Conqueror's way.
Plus there are foxes and selkies here ;)
The next book out will be the The Harpers followed by the Broken Lands regional book.
Some additional details:
The northern river, marked as the Wynn, is tricky to navigate because it sometimes connects to its twin in Faerie known as the Wyr. River journeys can turn very long and very weird for the unwary as you move in and out of strange pocket realms (a la Labyrinth). The bay it opens out in is called by some mariners "the Breach" because it is a gap in the coastal mountains.
The large forest in Frisia is home to several Hood clans as well as werewolves (the two don't get along obviously) as well as gigantic white boar that pops in and out of Frisian history, aiding some while luring others into the forest and making them disappear for all time.
Dulwyrrak, the castle in the eastern mountains, is a dwarven gatetown and the entrance to the realm of Degorzun. Details are given here: http://www.rpgnow.com/product_info......ducts_id=81320
Caddagal Castle, a ruin overlooking the delta of the Wynn, is a haunted ruin home to a variety of undead. I've talked to Greg about doing a short comic about the place which I may one day get around to doing and posting here.

The outline of the coast and the rivers came from the original GM map I was given and I printed out a mirror image of it and flipped over the printout and drew in the hills and mountains with the aid of a light table.
The coastal outline provided the first layer while the hills and mountains became a second layer. Basic colors were laid down as a third layer while forests were the 4th. Coloring over the black lines of the rivers, coast, hills, etc. was the 5th layer. The road and a overlap with the old Anaeland Player map was layer 6. Icons representing location were pasted into the 7th layer and Carolinga font was used to label it on the 8th layer.
