Finally finished my Oddworld fan art picture :D
Facts:
29 layers (hot D@#$) my second digital art piece ever.
Broke the stopwatch maximum so no seconds but i guesstimate about 11:30:xx.
the picture was highly based of the cover art of the game Strangers Wrath (Oddworld belongs to Oddworld inhabitants a division of EA Games) the only major difference is that i replaced the games main character with Clawz so i could have a pic where I'm pretending to be one of my favorite video game heroes (stranger because lets face it there are way too many Starfox posers already)

major difference me and stars broke everything down to specific layers so it would be easier and had to do all this using gimp (worlds cheapest digital art program). and I'm not really good with less layers plus s the frigging watermarks on the photo took more layers than i though most of the layers went to photo grunge. the character himself took three (outline/color shadows and highlights) the background took like 15 because we couldn't get a fade to look right without a cr@pton of additional layers of fades on top of it.
three things:
one - yeah this one was definitely my favorite of all my stuff I've done so far. it actually comes with my old dream of working for odd world inhabitants. i guess the picture is me still holding onto that dream in a way.
two - this is a pretty old image so i actually have no idea where you/any new comments on it came from XD. if you don't mind my asking how'd you find me/it?
three - thank you very much for the compliment and thoughtful comment :) i like to see these and on fa they are uncommon. :)

I saw your display on someone's page and thought I should click. You're welcome, though. I don't mind spreading some love and food for thought. Hey dreams are alright to have, y'know? It's just that we have to try to fight for them to reach some at least one if not most of them... life's too crazy to pass up on opportunities.

Dear god this looks amazing. I love the the super sharp pixel lines in contrast to the dusty coloring. GAH I love the colors so much ><. The dust particles/little light specks flying everywhere look so nice. I never would...... -ever-...... have that patience to do that XDD.

thanks kindly. this was my most precious picture at the time. it took so long to do i almost lost my marbles and i did it all with a mouse XD can't afford a tablet and don't think i could user one even if i tried. anyways alot of it is in the amount of layers. the background took like 15 layers because gimp doesn't combine layers well.
Oh lord, I remember the dark ages of my first digital art... with a mouse.....
My tailbone was crumbled because I had sat on my living room floor (computer was on a coffee table) and colored for hours without realizing. The WHOLE rest of the year it felt like a cheese-grader to my tailbone when I sat up and down XD.
And my first tablet was a gift from a friend <33. It's really small, I think 6x4..... It's a Wacom-Bamboo. It was like $60-something, I think. It works amazingly, though. I do all my art on it.

yeah the bow has a massive kick but if you look at the arms of the base character in the second pick down at this link you will see he can handle the kick
