Just a dorky picture of myself (one of the only pictures of me on my camera, actually <_<) in the Hutongs, which are more-or-less Chinese traditional alleyways that sometimes cater to foreigners as tourist sites (This one is one of those) and other times are just where people live. Usually they're filled with stores and restaurants, and can be either pretty loud and active or quiet and peaceful.
The one that I was at that day is one that really is a tourist kind of place, called 南锣鼓巷 (Nanluoguxiang) in Beijing in the Anding area. I've been back there many times, they have great stores and a pretty nice bar scene at night.
