If you've been following along, you know by now that I do these mascot goats for an SF convention in Chicago called Capricon. The mascot's name is Capricious, and he does wacky things to match the theme each year.

This year, the theme was "Adventure!" And I had no idea what I was going to do for it. I asked the person who puts together the onsite fanzine what she had in mind. Her response was "I don't know, how about something Steampunk?"

Well, if Capricious were to try doing something Steampunk, you know he wouldn't get it right. So, in the spirit of "Glue some gears on it and call it Steampunk", I shoved some gears in his fur and gave him that stupid ubiquitous octopus to hold in his mouth.

She thought it was hysterical!

But decided that it would be better no to use it.
