This young mare's name is Prophet...and her special talent is seeing into the future....but nobody believes her prophecies. They accused her of lying, and spreading panic and hysteria, so they punished her by cutting her wings...unfortunately her prophecy came true and the town that young Prophet tried to save...was destroyed.
So here she sits on this ash and blood covered field where her home once stood, her wings lost the colour fading from her body, as she cannot help but wonder....why was she spared from all this destruction?
I based this lovely little filly off of the Greek myth featuring the young woman Cassandra and her cursed gift of sight from the sun God Apollo.....she could see the fate of all she met...yet was cursed to never be believed.
I wanted it to look like she'd been discorded almost....with all her colour fading from her mane and tail, except for the hooves and the tip of her hair.
I tried to keep the blood to a minimum.
I coloured the tops of the hills (as well as the ones in the back) a greenish brown colour to show that despite this place now belonging to the dead, there was still life and hope in the distance...I wanted this tragedy to still have a chance for a happy ending.
