I made this for my adoptive grandma and grandpa. They used to have a black horse that they were quite fond of, so I decided to make this felted one look like her. :) It was easier than I thought it would be, the only problems I had were related to it being solid black! It was often hard to see what I was doing, and I couldn't get decent photos of her without editing them a lot in Photoshop.

Made of hand-dyed core wool over a wire armature, with hand-dyed superfine merino wool over the top. The mane and tail are hand-dyed Tussah silk with a bit of bamboo for interest.
