All Ciara ever wanted was a quiet life. She would have been perfectly happy to stay in Oseille and make a modest living shoeing horses and amusing the rabbit kittens who hang around her forge until she was old and grey. But no. Like so many others before her, she's found that the simple act of stepping out her door can lead to her being swept off on yet another adventure to who knows where, often with little more than the clothes on her back and her best bread knife tucked into her belt. That's just the price you pay for being known as the girl who saved the world. Or at least a part of it.
Lucky for her, Ciara takes after her mother more than she has ever cared to admit. She might look like she's in a bit of a tight spot now, but she's not a vixen you want to back into a corner.

That's entirely up to you. When I commissioned this picture, I just said I wanted Ciara in an adventure-y pose with either a torch or a sword in her hand. I haven't actually thought of a story for this one, yet, so I thought it might be fun to let people decide what she's doing for themselves.
*Grins* Yes, but when Niamh backs her into a corner, it's for rather a different purpose. The worst that's ever happened to her then is that she's had to go out and buy some new clothes afterward.

Aw, well thank you. I'm sure she'd be flattered right down to her toes to hear you say so, too. I agree, too. I really like how open ended this picture is, and how many different ways it can be interpreted. Is she scared, or simply startled? Is she in danger, or just facing an imminent tackling from a soft, cuddly bunny? No matter what, Ciara's life is always an adventure. Poor thing.
As for the pendant, I only meant for her to wear it in the one picture, but now she seems to be draw wearing it more than Niamh has ever been! But that's okay. Maybe Niamh loaned it to her to keep her safe.

She'd never admit to it in public, but she has as much of a taste for adventure as Deirdre does. So yes, I think she'd be incredibly bored if she ever got the peaceful, ordinary life she claims to want.
I've always loved Niamh's pendant and, to be honest, it looks so good on Ciara that it's not something I've ever tried that hard to correct.
