Asperger Rail Club and Autonomy visit the Talyllyn Railway
The Asperger Rail Club, my organisation, share an outing with Autonomy, a Shrewsbury-based Autistic people's group, to the Talyllyn Railway to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the National Autistic Society as well as Hans Asperger's birthday.
The photo itself was taken at Nant Gwernol station, located at one end of the Railway.
On the other hand, one reason for organizing this trip is because both the Asperger Rail Club and the Talyllyn Railway are pioneers in our own rights. The Asperger Rail Club (our organisation), in 2006, became the first railway enthusiasts' club to cater for Autistic people and the Talyllyn Railway, in 1951, became the first railway in the world to be preserved.
