So, when I was younger, I did a LOT of sculpting, especially in art class, most of my stuff would be put on display in the hall (one even made it to an art show at the fair back in VA Beach!).....
.... then I got big into gaming! So sculpting took a back seat.
Now I'm trying to re-light that flame, so naturally, I went overboard by making something massive. This thing stands close to 10 inches tall, and weighs a TON. You can see a size ref next to it, via a 7.62x54r rifle round (which I used as one of my sculpting tools! It works really good!).
During the baking process, a LOT of huge eff ups happened. It fell... twice, screwing up the head, feet, and arms (after the 2nd time I just said eff it). The head also, somehow, tilted back and to the side a little bit, making him look a little bit derpy. I blame the 2nd fall.
So, now it's all hardened, and stuff, and the painting process has begun. I'm repainting the scarf yellow, as apparently, Jame's scarf aint red (oops!). Then I'm gonna go over everything a 2nd and 3rd time and get all the details.
I know I could have done a lot better, but all-in-all, it isn't a bad "first try", per-se, as I attempt to get back into it. This was origionally going to be a Falco sculpture, but I've seen one of him, Fox (I own one of the StarFox Adventures ones!), and Wolf, so I told myself "CHARACTER SWAP, WE'RE DOING JAMES" about halfway through.
Anywho, expect more sculpting from me in the future, as I attempt to polish up my skills (again), in hopes of becoming as good as I once was!
Done with a giant brick of sculpey, and being painted with some really cheap acrylic paints that I'm HATING.
