I know I can grow wings, but flying is going to take a lot more practice.
I can do scales, but not in public.

I may be a little biased, but if genii can reshape flesh from one species to the next, who's to say that same power can't mend it as well?
Granted, blood is a much trickier beast to alter, and disease might slip through such a change unnoticed. But renewal of the flesh should certainly be within our power!
Missing ear or leg or eye,
Aching joints no longer spry.
Flakey skin and itchy rash,
Burning heart and lungs of ash.
Open wounds and broken bones,
All those painful aches and groans!
With power over form divine,
Turn back again the sands of time!

Taking a look in your noggin at the brain shenanigans you just mentioned, I would rather not meet this genie, too close to eldritch lore for my tastes. I will teach you some nice things I can think of if you never let me be awake in his presence. I like my soul unmolested thank you very much.
Then again, thinking about it, this shapeshifting deal is pretty close to eldritch lore..... I think I will be conservative in my suggestions in the future, for fear of evoking the ire of those who arrive with thoughts.
