Might as well post something I guess. As I said in my journal, this was the result of getting upset about what someone said on the phone and taking it out on my fridge. First pic shows the fracture of the 5th metacarpal bone in my right hand. Second pic is my lovely cast. Third pic is an xray in the cast (didn't know that was possible) showing the bone in its proper place. Some bones are really bizarre looking.
Moral of the story is refrigerators have lousy offensive skills, but are quite good at defending themselves.
Again, many thanks to everyone that's helping out with my comic during this downtime! Should be starting to post pages very shortly.

Wow, must have been quite a kick. Fairly sure this will be a similar learning experience for me. I hear you about the punching bag. We have a pop-up football tackle dummy at work for that sort of thing, but there's never anything suitable around when it would really be useful.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Oh my. I suffered a similar injury last September when I tripped while going downhill and landed flat on my face. My left little finger was severely sprained, and it took three months for me to get to a point where I could make a completely closed fist. I was amazed that X-rays would go through a fiberglass cast too. Here's to a speedy recovery.
Thanks!
Ouch, sprains can be real bad. That's pretty much what happened to my left thumb in '99, badly damaged some tendons or something. Ended up attending AC'99 in a cast. Seems like clean bone breaks like this heal better than sprains and other connective tissue damage. That thumb still hurts regularly some 13 years later. Hope your finger has fared better!
