I have always been a big fan of his artwork for years. Even before Fur Affinity got started. But I was always shy and other then commenting sometimes on his images didn't do much. That is until I read in his journals that he was doing emergency commissions due to how bad things were getting in Spain (Just look up how badly the Spanish government and banks did in the new for the past few years to get an idea of how bad it was getting.)
Once I realized he was in need I started to commission him. One fully coloured image at a time, each time he finished the last one. And as many Iron artist sketches as I could whenever he had to do that. It was during all that that we became friends and Galen started to call me his patron. And the rest is history.

Well the way I saw it at the time is that I could keep my money which could result in never seeing my favorite artist ever work again.
Or
I could commission my favorite artist, getting to see his wonderful characters in poses and themes I would like to see. As well as knowing that I was helping him in his time of need. But at the cost of each commission.
To me there wasn't a choice.
