Ok, what can I say? I’m back!!!
Back and ready to present my latest TRADITIONAL piece of art: “Calamity Rising” – my first traditional piece in 2012!
Finally, I found time and inspiration to do a “scene” with landscape, wide angle and countless characters again.
Kyle and Reptile are standing on a high cliff… gazing down at a huge army of Barbarians. Will they be able to stop this army? The battle is about to begin…
Media used:
Pencils, Inks, Markers, Acrylics (and NO digital stuff this time!)
Working time:
about 40 hours

Hey, buddy... I have something better for you! Your desktop is badly stretched and got lots of pixel damage.
So, here are two files for you to download, since you are using "ThinkPad":
1) This is a cropped version of my artwork. There are details missing, but it's clean and sharp:

2) This is a stretched version of my artwork. Both characters are a bit "fat", but there is at least nothing missing and the picture is sharp:

I think I'll go with stretched but sharp because I can see the whole thing (including your signature in the bottom left) and it just doesn't look as good in my opinion with parts cropped out. I doubt anybody will see it and say "hmmm that look a bit stretched don't you think?" I don't even think it looks too stretched.

You know... progress is very important to me. I find it difficult to watch other artists, who are (sadly) stuck in their style and DO NOT show any progress at all. Some guys are drawing at the same level like they did 5 years ago... or even 10 years.
Ok, even MY progress is very SLOW these days... but I always TRY to become better. Because it's possible!!! ^___^

If Reptile existed in the real world, I'd enjoy just giving him room and board, for I'd just be enrapt looking at his scaly beauty, and so watching him sleep, no need for us to speak, just marveling at his well-built reptilian body (in 褌 fundoshi for bedtime perhaps) would be all the payment I needed, and feel well paid for the exchange.
The work is absolutely breath taking, the colours in the sky and brush of the valley really are amazing. The thing that kind of has me is the fact that the two warriors look down on such an enemy base and yet, hold their flag. A very bold thing to do, I would be paranoid at this point of being spotted, unless that is what they were counting on.
