A long-awaited commission of
goldfur's character Capt. Martin Yote from hir story series "The Phoenix". Pictured is the young captain shortly before his first space voyage, posing for a picture in his finest dress uniform. I had a lot of fun with this picture, partially 'cause I got to design both the dress uniform and the stylized phoenix badge myself, and 'cause sci-fi + furry = happy artist. :3
It was also one hell of an honor to get a commission from
goldfur hirself *squee* Yeah, I enjoyed basically everything about working on this.

Wow. Well this one is both impressive and STUNNING. I swear your art improves with every image you post. While the drawing and pose are relatively simple, your coloring skills really make it stand out. For starters, that lovely red curtain. The shading gives it incredible depth and shows your mastery for fabrics and their physics. Plus, the way it drapes over everything, including the part his arm's resting on, making it look like exactly what you were shooting for, some sort of academy graduation photo. :) The shading and detail on the uniform flaunts your skills quite nice as well. Unlike in ST.. where, the uniforms seem to be made out of felt or another cheep ass fabric, yours have the look of a silk suit the way they hug tight on his shoulders and chest, but billow gently where they hang off his form. Not that many artists depict clothing actually being 'worn' as well as you have in this one. The last part I'll comment on, are those eyes, and that's the feature that my 'stunning' comment before most refers to. They look to real and really give the character life. While I could go on about the image all morning, I'll simply say 'great job' and keep up the good work. :)
