I had a really hard time choosing among the people who submitted characters to be a test subject for this sample badge. There were so many to pick from! @_@ In the end, I decided to go with Natasha, who belongs to  softpaw. Speaking of which, shoot me a note or an email with your address, and I'll drop the original in the mail to you next time I make a post office run. =)

I've had this badge idea in my head for years, but I was never quite sure if it would actually work. It does. =D The character hangs from the name plate by a single loop of hemp cord that's been woven through slits in the laminate. It's heat-seal, so there's no adhesive involved, and the grommets add extra support to help prevent anything from ripping out (have I mentioned that I LOVE my grommet punch?) The loop lets the character swing freely from the nameplate, which is a nifty feature, and any sort of cord or ribbon, etc, can be strung through the top two grommets for hanging purposes.

I have a few things to finish up before I can actually offer this as a badge type for commissions, but these will likely be in the $25-$30 range. The entire badge, including the cord, is about 8"x3". There's no reason I can't do adult characters in the same style. They'd likely end up a little bit larger, and a tad more expensive just because of the amount of work involved. =)
