Thanks. I think I need to work on my endings a bit. I’m noticing a tendency to wrap it up too quickly.

This I liked. The introspection and history was intriguing, but the end did have to be read four or five times (over lunch and a cup of tea) to see where it went ... and you know, it was all the more enjoyable for it.

Very good... realy and truly... yes I can see Clancy in this a bit - but so what? That he inspired you does not mean you copied. Ahem... *does a little dance... I got the ending right off; but then I'm a spy novel kinda fan from way back.

Just a couple of little eye snags but nothing of too much importance. Watch for repeat words. Heck... I was just going back over my prompt story again and finding all kinds of stuff.

Yeah, I went over this again this morning and saw more than a few mistakes. I’m thinking maybe I need to wait a day or two to do a decent edit with fresh eyes to iron the little mistakes out. Then again this is mostly just for practice.

I'm glad I read the comments before I started to read this, otherwise I might have just skimmed it..they were right, you have to "slow read" it at the end.

Interesting. Intense. Detailed. A bit dark and mysterious piece, but I enjoyed reading this.

*chuckles* with most stories this old I tend to have to reread it to remember what I was trying to say, but not with this one. This one kind of stayed with me for some reason, still not sure why.
