I don't draw or upload too often, and I was looking through my gallery and wanted to put up a piece that shows how I've gradually improved over the past few years. I started with my first drawing of Knuxie way back in late Winter, early Spring 2008 through to my most recent submission. One big that that I did notice that isn't really apparent here is that my images seemed to get bigger, which means I was using more canvas space, putting in more detail than I initially did. The first two were before I had a tablet and started drawing digitally, so one is pencil and colored pencil, and the other is just pencil.
My latest submission, I did realize I forgot the goggles when I was putting in the keywords, and if you read the keywords you'll see my commentary on it.
Another thing I had realized about drawing babyfurs is that it's not just about drawing big heads on a disproportionate body, it's about big features making little bodies look cute. My paws got bigger and more defined. My eyes became bigger circles as to make them look friendly and energetic rather than mean or grumpy. Diapers...well, clothing of all sorts has always been one of my weak points, but I really wanted to draw a good-looking diaper, so I practiced for a few days at it before drawing my latest submission.
From trying new ways of drawing certain features to learning and using features in SAI I've never used before, my character has been evolving...at about the rate of one decent drawing per year...but I'm going to try to fix that, too. I gotta draw more!
