okay so this drawing is going to have a boat load of disclaimers due to the character not being mine in any way.
the character belongs to my favorite artist Mark Thompson
okay so i think i will start the description with the reasons why im doing fan-art. the first reason is probably the most obvious I'm a fan dork XD the second reason i that one fan pointed out that even though he has so many fans that he doesn't know what to do with them none of them seem to draw any fan art for him and when they do draw "fan-art" all they do is trace on of his drawings (poorly) come on people that's just wrong and offensive to any artist and their fans don't take kindly to it. so seeing this i decided while I'm waiting for inspiration of a picture to once again slap me in the face and say draw that i would make this. (if he even sees it i hope he doesn't think its too bad)
next up are the reasons i choose Ariana:
top of the list is because shes probably one of my favorite characters:) another big reason would be that i know this character so well that i didn't need reference material (yeah i have some weird twist on photographic memory that's mixed with A.D.D.). the final reason is because the most recent pic of her that i saw may have been awesome but i don't think it looks like the old Ariana (whose mah favorite).
Notes about my opinion of this picture:
I'm actually not too ashamed of this picture. I'm a huge fan of anything with floofyness (if you haven't figured that out from the way i draw you aren't paying attention). i used a lot of floof on this picture and made the tail bigger (both are part of my style) the way i draw did come alot from the original artist because as dorky as it sounds as far as goals go being like my favorite artist was kind of the reason i came back to drawing furrys(that and i needed something to distract me in between classes). a few more pieces of my style (which come from alot of other artists i watch) are the little fang that's visible that is on all of my pictures and not part of the original character, the eyes i draw actually came from months of research on different ways of drawing and is all practice) the number 58 in the background is there because Ariana is an Arcanine which is Pokemon #58.
next are some important disclaimers and other important stuff (back up fantards i have a disclaimer and I'm not afraid to use it XD)

the art was not traced in any way, shape or form and even has a few of my twists that show my style starting to poke through. the way you can tell this one isn't traced is because its not anywhere near good enough and cuz the pose is a common one i use if you don't know my art. i actually didn't even look at one of his pictures til after i was done (because it would have killed my confidence and this would have never gotten posted).
yes i realize i messed up several times majorly (people kept bumping me while i was inking it >:l and i was shakier than usual because of two reasons two hours straight of work stresses me out (along with having low blood sugar shakes) and knowing what this will be compared against didn't help either)
a note to all the major furverts:
I will block you and your comments so fast it will knock the fur off your face and spin your fur-suit helmet around backwards if you made over the top nasty comments. its disrespectful to the art the character and to me. plus i have several under 18 viewers that i don't want to scar for life so back off don't swear (censor it if you feel the need example: Dat a$$) and please keep comments g-pg13.

I love the shape of her head so much, especially the muzzle part. On terms of anatomy you did pretty darn good X3. The shading on the tail looks great, I love how soft looking it is ♥.

thanks so much i'm glad to hear i did right and yeah I've been developing my own style for faves and it shows on this picture heavily :) the only part that urks me on this is that he probably never even saw it. either that it he didn't care enough to comment.

i remember i was so proud the day i posted this and put that link up. that got shattered real quick. that's a real dream killer :/ even if he said he hated it that would have been less crushing than the full fledged cold shoulder.

Aw, it's alright XD. Don't let it be a dream killer D:l. If it made you feel bad about your art, just take into consideration, look how most of all our art starts out as XD. You don't even want to SEE the monstrosity my younger art was...... |D. But I can see you're on a fast track of improving because (even though I haven't stuck around watching your art) you already seemed to jump right into the digital media. And judging between your first and second attempts at digital, you improved on a LOT of things very quickly :33.
thank you :) i'm actually going to be doing the digital version of this very image side time this week if your interested :) its been taunting me and I've been waiting to do this one til i hit like 500 page views so it would get a bit more attention XD my watchers are awesome and some are talkative.
