I made this drawing as a late Christmas/Birthday gift for my best friend. He used to be my roommate, but not long ago he had to move back across the country over 2000 miles away. Because it was the result of a breakup, he's been really down about a lot of things, and I try really hard to remind him that no matter how far away I am I'm still here and our friendship is still just as important to me.
We both love my little pony and would watch it together. His favorite character is Fluttershy and mine is Rarity, which is why I drew them together for him. I know what scene I had in mind while making it, what is the story behind it for you?
I drew the initial sketch with pencil and paper, scanned it in and then created the entire image in vector over the sketch with Adobe Illustrator. This is the most extensive image I've done in the program, and I have to say I was so giddy with how it was going while making it. I printed it out as a glossy 11x17 and mailed it to him (and may have printed an extra one for myself as well :P)
