Wrongo. It's shipping in any form, but the thousands of otaku fandoms call it "Pairings". In fandoms of soap operas in the past and all, it was called "Slash". Usually applied to fanfiction, because people who want to see what it'd be like if their favorite characters were romantically or sexually involved tend to write about it or have it written for them, but can be something as simple as saying "I really like the idea of <X> and <Z> together."
