I decided to go the more sentimental rouge the more I thought about this. My recently adopted character, Mika, has an obsidian eye due to an incident nothing short of other-worldly. She's been self-conscious of it ever since.
However, Neo, has both eyes black, and though not in the same manner, it's still something that's made him feared to a degree, despite his volition.
This isn't an official pairing or anything, but I thought it nice to have the two be able to see past the faults, and worry more about the person itself....
