My entry to the Anthrochallenge on DeviantART where the theme is TIME! Here I'm showing the ageing (passage of TIME) from young lion to Mr Big-MANE in one picture!

First, the striking expression is moving - absolutely wonderful shift from youthful innocence to mature understanding.
Second, the detailing on the mane is stunning.
Third, a wonderfully subtle yet noticeable change in "time" via the mane.

I keep looking at this and going... God, such a painter.
You just have this skill... to mix the media, to create the textures, to notice the details. Everything about this- the form is so solid and I am STILL digging the nose spots. And that crippled whisker.
