Air from Orchestral Suite #3 in D-dur, BWV 1068, by Johann Sebastian Bach
(aka "Air on a G String" )
4 minutes 30 seconds
I had no idea I had the sheet music for this famous "Air on a G String" piece by Bach until I heard its official name on the radio! "Oh! It's from one of the Orchestral Suites! I have that music!"
And what is the "G String" that the popular name refers to? The long notes at the beginning of the Violin I line are F#, A, and G...how could these all be played on a "G String"? Must be a string instrument thing...
This was the first piece of music that I used Photoshop to transpose the weird and unreadable Viola Clef into the familiar Bass Clef.
I performed this piece as a duet at the Talent Show during my recent Tai Chi retreat. I played the Violin II and Viola parts.
Performed semi-live on August 21, 2007 on a Casio CT-670 synthesizer: Violin part I and Continuo part played live into the synthesizer's memory and then the Violin part II and Viola part played live on top of memory playback.

he he he...yep!
It works for the Viola Clef conversion pretty well...no magic function button...just a lot of work:
1) Draw lines to duplicate the staff. Duplicate the Bass Clef symbol, key signature, and time signature at the beginning of the staff. Hide all this.
2) Make a copy of the Viola line.
3) Erase the staff lines completely from the Viola line, including all those which are on individual notes too.
4) Duplicate the staff from step #1 and have it show up under the Viola line.
5) Move the Viola line down a half step.
6) Repeat steps 2-5 for each line of the Viola Clef.
7) Make sure you've done it all right!
