Too bad he'd outlaw the gays and abortions. Ron Paul has many good ideas, but social conservatism is terrible.
In the end, Libertarianism is just too idealistic. I'd love to believe most large companies wouldn't dump toxic chemicals in swamps if it'd save them a few bucks.. But history has kind of shown otherwise. Eliminating all government regulatory agencies is not the answer. Until our culture has evolved to the point that we're capable of acting responsibly without bureaucratic bullshit, I'd rather there be regulations on how much lead they can put in paint.

I believe you are talking about "Ron Paul", who is unfortunately Ran Pool's estranged brother who was lost in a tragic interstellar collision with the Star Eaters.
Although I do agree with your concerns of Mr. Paul's somewhat eccentric policies of not allowing gay people to have spontaneous dance numbers in the streets (which is personally something I could not live without), sometimes you just have to listen to your heart.
