As a young filly, Shinebright often wondered why she did not have her cutie mark yet. She knew that most ponies got them around her age once they realized what their special talent was, but Shinebright was good at a lot of things and none of them had given her a cutie mark. She always got good grades in school without effort and could learn just about any new skill with ease. She had many hobbies she enjoyed and excelled at even the most challenging of games she played with her friends. "My special talent must be something I never thought of, then!" she thought to herself, "Maybe it's something I haven't even tried yet!" That day, the young filly made a vow to herself that she would work as hard as she could to discover her special talent, no matter what it took.
