Ah man, this commission was so fun! I think that's mostly because Mahiri gave just the right amount of personality description and artistic license, and overall was just a pleasure to work with. :) This also will serve as a great example of my simple color style, which was in dire need of a new addition. So, win-win for me! :D
So, about the piece itself! The character on the left is Eve, an alligator dragon hybrid with a little more emphasis on the alligator. She was described to me as a very elegant and confident character, with a southern USA type of personality and a pretty purple tea hat. :D Fuzz, the character on the right, is, well, Fuzz! A pretty normal gray wolf who is protective, usually a bit grumpy, but in this instance very fond of Eve. :)
I have to say, after making this I'm like in love with Eve, haha. Such an interesting character, and very rich in background. More characters should be like her!

My goodness this turned out well. I swear she's not paying me to say this - you're easily the most satisfied I've been, working with an artist! I've never had such a smooth time transitioning my thoughts into something visual. I should probably add for everyone to read that I didn't even supply a picture for reference of Eve, and yet she still turned out just right.
Phew! Anyway. I'm glad you like the character, too! Eve is basically someone I was stricken with in my head, and she's more or less defined herself without my input. She's strong, experienced, and so very passionate and respectful. Many admiring eyes have been upon her in her 200-some-odd years of life, and she's had the eyes for them right back, eternally complimented by every little gesture of appreciation.
Oh, and no, she's not entirely lady! In case anyone was wondering. Let's just say that her hat isn't the only thing that matches her eyes. Ahem.
