Here we have two more species from my new Fantasy universe. Really generic background I know andn I didn't quite get what I wanted with showing the interplay between them but first draft of em and all. Anyways seeing as Dwarves and Elves are common fantasy fair My lil Codex Entry on them will be brief.

Of the species of the land Dwarves and Elves are the most closely related to one another with Orcs coming in a more distant third. They differ from one another in a few key ways. Dwarves are shorter averaging 4 and a half feet tall with Elves having heights in the lower regions of the human height range. Dwarves and tough and durable possessing robust bone structure which is hard to damage where as Elves have a much lighter bone structure. Dwarves on average tend to be physically stronger than Elves though Elves are typically much more agile and fast. Elves also have superior low light vision and hearing though Dwarves have very keen noses. Elves tend to excel in magic in all it's forms quite naturally where as Dwarves seldom hold any great command of magic. This said Dwarves are expert engineers and crafstmen and despite lack of talent for magic are fine enchanters though Elves still seem to hold the top spot. Dwarves and Elves today are steadfast allies though in the past were staunch rivals until the Great Orc Crisis. The two races united in order to topple the Orc War Bands.

Rifit Greatiorn and Eringot Starcaster have been close for quite some time and go back quite a long ways. Rifit is quite a skilled engineer constructing all manner of mechanical masterpieces artificial limbs among them. Eringot on the other hand is a skilled Mage and scholar. The two met some years ago when Eringot was living in a small Elven village near the mountains. Rifit had been traveling with a band of Dwarves making their way to one of the Great Dragon Cities. As nightfall came the group exhausted from a long day's trek took shelter in the mouth of the cave. During the Evening meal their jovial music and laughs awoke Cave Lion and it's cubs. The lion attacked them severely mauling Rifit. The band of Dwarves fought the beast back into the cave where one of them tossed a small gas canister which knocked the animal out. With the beast subdued they quickly rushed Rifit to the nearest village to seek aide for him. Eringot was the Elf that came to their aide. Eringot was able to mend some of the more sever injuries but there just wasn't enough of Rifit's arm left to save. Rifit still required several days rest after incident to recover from the minor infection he'd gotten from his attack during which time he got to know Eringot well. The two now share a home and shop on the edge of Draven Rock City one of the Great Dreagon Cities. Rifit since fitted with an artificial arm as gotten back to work with his machines building custom ones for the city's inhabitants as well as maintaining a good number of them. Eringot for his part helps with applying various enchantments of his own design. In his spare time Eringot continues his scholarly studies.
