Hey mc'douche: As a vegan I say "fuck you" and as a dog person (and pibble lover) I say "fuck you double".
Read the news if you haven't yet. mcdonalds came up with a new ad that claims eating their food is less risky than petting a pit bull (haaaa) Not the first time they've done something breedist, in this link you can also read about the THERAPY dog that was turned away just cause he was a pit..

Keep complaining, call them, email them, post to their facebook and hit them where it hurts them the most: boycott. They should at very least make a PRO pibble commercial to make up for this disgusting and harmful ad.

It's a fucking McDonald's ad, I'm sure know one cares enough about their commercials, not to mention that word of mouth is what spreads the idea that pit bulls are mean. A fifteen/thirty second commercial has not, is not, and hopefully will not have to act as a moral compass.
but for a dog that's so misunderstood it can be VERY harmful. it encourages fear, hate & BSL. pits are the most overpopulated dog in shelters, and the least likely to get adopted out, thanks in part to people being ignorant & fearful about them. People that know and love pits try so hard to educate and promote a truthful image, and when people do stuff like this it's just a slap in the face, reinforcing old stereotypes. I think thats why everyone is so pissed off
Seriously no need for name calling here e_e And, people DO care. a lot or people. So many in fact have spoken up against this that it was even on the news: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztke2trhU_c There's also a campaign going now to get mcdonalds to make a PRO pitbull commercial.
Well apparently they do. Within hours of airing it mcdonalds was swamped with complaints, and there's a nationwide outrage that keeps growing ha :) Add to the fact that they turned away a therapy dog just because it was a pit, and they've got a virtual army against them.
Think about how stupid this is. You're trying to relegate that ads be subject to acting as something that isn't entertainment. Granted the entertainment is almost always poor, but it's a hard sell for their stuff. It'd be like protesting against a cartoon because it showed a mean dog that happened to look exactly like a particular breed.
I can't sum this up in any other way except this - this is a first world, white bread problem.

"In 1951 the society clarified the definition of "veganism" to mean "the doctrine that man should live without exploiting animals"."
From the book made by the guy that coined the word vegan:
http://books.google.com/books?id=AoWlCmNDA3QC&pg=PA604#v=onepage&q&f=false
"Exploitation" doesn't mean "complete and whole abstinence from all animal products."
Way to get all defense and jittery over someone who didn't say anything negative to you! :D
Yup. You do the best you can, that's all anyone can do. I'm pretty well educated in what things are safe and what aren't (I have a list of animal product items, even for those hard to guess things) and I have ocd so I check & recheck labels a lot. I also go out of my way to make 120% no products I use are tested on animals (leaping bunny is useful for this) I'm planning to grow my own produce in the spring, so I do even less harm (for those that argue of the animals that are harmed during the harvesting of grains etc) No one is perfect, but at least I can say I'm not paying for anything that caused harm to an animal on purpose, and do my very best to make sure everything I buy is 100% "safe" :)
I've actually dissected that list before and found that over half of those things A) have vegan replacement and/or B) can be avoided by use of the individual.
And do you think people haven't thought of this already? Your argument is dull, unoriginal, used up, not cute and definitely not funny. Try something more legitimate next time.

ignore them, they're just overreacting because someone insulted the "McDonald's lifestyle", lol. I ate McDonald's when I was a kid and didn't know any better, but now I know now nasty/unhealthy/cruel it is. unfortunately theres a McDonald's right in my town square that gets a lot of business, it's upsetting to see so many people giving that to kids...:\ funny though, there's a old fashioned burger place that revamped into serving veggie burgers that's next door, it's getting more business. :I
whether being a radio ad or not I find that terribly offensive, some of my dogs are pitbulls and wouldn't hurt a fly. slowly wasting away on the inside because you're going to get some major disease from all the chemicals in the meat, or whatever they put in it is far more harmful than petting a dog. even if a dog, no matter the breed did bite someone it still isn't on the scale of harm and death mcdonalds type establishments conflict on humans daily. 65.2% of Americans are said to be unhealthy/died from eating at places like McDonald's, KFC, Popeye's, etc. the most recent population of Americans to suffer from dog bites is under 15% supposedly...
I really wish McDonald's could be replaced by healthier, sustainable, humane centered places. for the animals sake and for humans...-_-

A friend of mine is opening the very first ever all vegan restaurant in my town this spring, so can't wait for that :D She's an AWESOME chef (we went to a halloween party at her house last year) so I bet people start flocking there. And with all the bad press mcdonalds is getting, who knows. Maybe we'll have a new fav restaurant in town. Yeah, I ate at mcdonalds and such when I was a kid too, I didn't go vegetarian until I was about 15 (and vegan when I was 26) I have been overweight for years, since I was little - and until recently haven't seen much improvement. I was a "cheese addict", but since going vegan I dropped two pant sizes for the first time in forever. More recently I have been trying to focus more on raw, whole foods instead of processed foods. It's a very feel good process. I did my first ever "fresh fruit cleanse" last week and have been swapping at least one meal a day for raw foods, mainly fruits (fruit addict @_@) and exercising for at least 30 mins a day. Which, of course, goes hand in hand with better eating.
As for people not caring about this story...well, I guess they care so little that the story was worthy of a news report! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztke2trhU_c ;) Since this outrage, more people have been coming forward with other cases too. Such as this: http://www.examiner.com/pit-bull-in.....ervice-dog-out Personally, I think they've screwed with the wrong group of people. Dog people. :P
