ROOKIE SHOOTOUT
The procedure described in the previous journal for the rookie shootout had to be altered, because there was not enough scoring to accommodate the elimination process. The new rules are as follows:
Round 1: In round one, 8 scorers will advance to round 2 and the four who don't score will be eliminated. Once every player shoots, if MORE than 8 players have scored, then those who did not score will be eliminated and those who did score will continue shooting in a sudden death format to see who advances to round two. If LESS than 8 players have scored, then those who scored will advance to round 2, and those who did not will continue shooting in a sudden death format to see who advances to round 2 and who is eliminated.
Round 2: Of the 8 remaining players, 4 scorers will advance to round 3. Once every player shoots, if MORE than 4 players have scored, then those who did not score will be eliminated and those who did score will continue shooting in a sudden death format to see who advances to round three. If LESS than 4 players have scored, then those who scored will advance to round 3, and those who did not will continue shooting in a sudden death format to see who advances to round 3 and who is eliminated. Additionally, the goalie who has allowed the most goals at the end of round two is eliminated.
Round 3: In round three, two scorers will advance to the head to head sudden death round. At the end of round 3, the goalie whose allowed the most goals has been eliminated. If there is a tie, Then all three goalies advance to the final round.
Round 4: Sudden death round to produce the winner of the shootout. If there are 2 goalies remaining, the goalie who allows the final goal is eliminated and the other is the winner. If there are three goalies remaining, the goalie with the least goals allowed is the winner. If there is a tie, the tiebreaker is that whichever goalie makes the final save is the winner.

Great game all around! It was a real treat to see the FHL's best do what they do so well.
As for the Skills Competition, are there numbers for the actual events? I'm curious to see how fast Conway got around the rink, or how hard Ansikorpi's winning slapshot was clocked at...stuff like that. Or do we just leave it all to the imagination?
Oh, and BTW...I nominate Blizzard Wuffy for the game's MVP. A pair of goals and assists, and he looked that much better than everybody else out there.

I agree that blizzard would be MVP! And nah its more to the imagination, if I were to post numbers I'd just be making them up so I figure it best to just post the winners in the order that the simulation produces them and leave how close it was up to everyone else to decide for themselves
Oh man, props to St. Claire for that sick breakaway challenge move. How he juggled the puck in the air, and then whipped it into the net with a spin-o-rama...its like the puck never touched the ice!
St. Claire for MVP *chants*
And way to go Parlett, with some pretty sweet shootout moves! All in all, Hamilton was well represented~
