The entire horde would have drowned in a matter of days if the figurehead was on the ship they took to Everlight. Also, imagining what the elves would use for figureheads...these ships would swim rather funny.

Or the elves thought he's not in the physical condition to survive it. Reviving him after every round while everyone capable to do it is busy themselves surely gets tedious.
