I like how it came out in the end. I like the blue top. And I tried drawing in her stripes with the coloured pencils instead of ink, it makes it a little softer, since the ink is very harsh sometimes. :P

Working with markers like I do in most of my pieces is actually a little harder to do, in my opinion. Colored pencils can be equally hard to get an even laydown of color with, but they give you maximum control over the flow of color, while with markers you sometimes have to compensate for the bleeding of the ink when it hits the paper. You also have to be careful of what kind of ink you use because if its soluble, the alcohol in the markers will make it run. I found that out the hard way on a piece I'd been working on for hours, LOL. And yes, digital art is very hard unless you have the right tools at your disposal.
