I live in Wyoming and have to deal with these ignorant bastards on a daily basis. Most think elks were made for them to shoot and that wolfs are psychopathic murder terrorists who kill for the joy of killing. Oh the irony...

that movie is showing at the movie theater I work at. when I saw the title, and that it starred Liam Neeson, I assumed it was about a vigilante or something. Grey, as in gray morality. But after I found out what it was about from a co-worker, it made me mad. the whole concept of the movie is bullshit.
Wolves do not attack people!
The only reported wolf attacks are by RABID wolves.
One person mentioned that they thought that they were near the wolf den, and that's why the wolves attacked. That is also bullshit. That movie takes place in winter. Wolves mate in the winter so they can have pups in the SPRING! In winter there is no den . They are constantly on the move in winter following herds so they can eat.
I'm not going to hold this movie against Liam Neeson, Sometimes great actors do bad movies. it happens. but What I hate is that people are going to go see this movie, and think that's how wolves act.

I'm horrified when movies like this are produced. And there are lots of movies, all the time, coming out sending messages that certain species of animal (wolves, sharks, piranha, snakes, spiders, etc) are scary, evil, killing machines that are out to get us. It reinforces society's speciesism and fears and ignorance about other species. The most dangerous species out there, the one that could be more accurately portrayed as scary, dangerous killers is the human species! Now there's a species to fear...(fortunately, though, we can change that)
