I based this on a design by Raven over at the Wolf's Shipyard forum. The design is based on the hull of a Archangel Class Carrier.

Yeah.
It's a *loooong*, galaxy-spanning story of mine, combining all the starcraft I know.
That many photorp tubes, even on a broadside arrangement, would be very effective in deploying the kind of plasma-torpedo, macrowave and hardcase macrowave shock-torpedo coverage needed for the kind of planetary defense, stellar-orbit and nebulae bombardments I imagine.
Yes, in a world full of Galaxy, Sovereign, Ascendance and other outsized classes and superclasses, their performance is limited by their LN-64 engines. But older designs are much easier to fabricate and train on. Perfect for Starfleet Reserve personnel or large numbers of Consription crews. Whole Squadron Groups (100 hulls) could be deployed on long-orbit DDF patrols, backing up the other Enterprise and Excelsior-superclass tactical hardware in the heart of Federation space.

Okay. You really, really, really need to learn how to draw multiple view and Isometric images, because I'm intrigued with this design. I get the impression that a "Standard" Saucer Hull is blended into the boxy structure aft, and that the entire rear hull is dedicated to the launching and recovery of shuttles. fighters and assault craft. Kinda like the "Hybrid" assault ships in most modern Navies here in the 21st Century.
