This is a joined icon commission for korat! She wanted a picture of her unicorn courier character, Alison, with her boy, Alex.
I gotta say, it's been a long time since I've done anything cel-shaded, so it was a nice change of pace for sure. I still have some cobwebs to knock off of my cel-shading (the shading took me longer than it should have...), but I think I'll get a lot faster with some more practice. It also took me a while to get Alison's expression looking right (it's hard to make horses look expressive) but I think I got it in the end.
Monochromatic color schemes are so much fun to work with. So many pretty red and pink colors. <3

Well, for cobwebbing on the cel shading, these are beautiful!
Wow, this is just gorgeous, from the limited colors to the characters, to the little necklace he's holding in his teeth. So self assured, I love his expression. It's sweet and a little wry at the same time - so him. and Ali's expression is obvious delight (and yes, wow, it's HARD to get expressions like this on a horse...)
You've been an absolute professional to work with, and such a delight. Trust me, I'm SO glad I hunted you down and got these from you, and I love what you did -- letting you just go with a theme was the perfect way to go! They're gorgeous. I hope other people see it and get some of these from you!!
