Well, at least you can possibly put your renders in-game
if you use the right program. (I know Maya is used a lot
in the gaming industry. Just a matter of time now.)

Well, I don't know too much on that.
I just know there's some type of construction patch, (as its called), that you can use
to modify some stuff and put it in game. As far as your own character being
made and put into the game, I dunno, I only know that the renders and changes
through the construction patch will allow you to fix things or alter them if
need be.
Though, I'm sure if modded enough, you COULD possibly do that, I wouldn't
be surprised. Nothing is really "impossible", it's just a VERY tedious process
and being careful with the data files. MOST industries usually use Maya as a
3D program render for games, (when I last was in classes for game art
design), but I'm sure the construction patch is probably specifically used for
the Skyrim files. (Again, its possible to render something, load it, and put
it into the construction patch to make it playable through the actual game
itself.)
