i use a cat slicker brush, its finer I think, but it still takes alot of it...with this yarn specifically tho, i brushed it out just well enough to get them all unraveled then i used a hair straightener to straighten the fur out...then I brush it gently to spread the fur a bit more before tying it off i haven't tried my hair straightener for the regular yarn yet
That is gorgeous. Man, I've had yarn tails on my mind ever since you showed me the WIP on this. How much yarn is needed? I have some that would be super silky like that.
Also, I'm trying to figure out a way to make the very end curl up, just a touch - wolf with a drop of dog blood somewhere in the ancestry. I hate to use wire (mostly because a fursuiter friend of mine has a fit when I mention it) but ... I'm not sure what else to try. ...though I just had an idea. I'll have to learn how to make them before I'll know if my idea has any merit.
This is awesome.

well thats all I could suggest was a wire =/ as far as yarn needed it really depends on how big you want it...this one took me 1/2 scanes of the blue and very little of grey....i suppose as far as just making the tip curl up, you could try mounting yarn pieces on top of the other in an upward position until it looks curlyish =) i never tried that...just an idea...i'm making a huskie tail with wire in it tho i dont know if it'll hold up properly....we'll have to see
