And because Kog'Maw is my favorite part of my contest entry, I decided to upload a detail of him. :) This is almost full size, so that gives you an idea of how huge of a file that image was. FEWFTA!

I play Kog'maw almost exclusively as AP, with a little attack speed thrown in for good measure (nashor's tooth mostly). It's REALLY powerful. Strong AoE with his gooball, painful ults, and his W hits like a truck. So yeah, Rabadons is amazing on him if you're building him that way. :D
No problem! My full build if you ever want to give it a try is this:
Start with: Crystalline Flask + 1 sight ward + health pot. Go mid! :D
Next get starting boots, then tear of the goddess, then upgrade that into Archangel's staff. Somewhere in there I get sorcerer's shoes, depending on how much mobility I want, but usually before I finish archangel's. After that I usually go straight for rabadons, but if you're doing well and want to risk it, Mejai's is a fun (but not very meta) choice.
After that I go for stinger, which I upgrade into nashors, and then sheen, which I upgrade into lich bane. The whole sheen/lich bane choice is less set in stone. Sometimes I go for a defensive item, sometimes I go for lifesteal, sometimes even more attack speed, it's up to you!
Other than that, the only pointers I can give is to remember to use AP kog's void ooze as an AoE damage spell, and it's also great for cutting people off when they're trying to run away. It's your most useful skill and will set up a lot of kills for you when used in conjunction with your ult, so don't forget it!
Anyway, that was a lot of info that you might not even have wanted, but hopefully it'll give you a little leg up if you ever do decide to try AP kog. He's my favorite character by far so I'm a little obsessed I guess, heh. ^.^
