The Snow Bunting is an arctic species which sometimes irrupts southward in fall and winter. This bird has been hanging out at the north edge of the Portland airport since early December. Bright cloudy days are not the best for bird photography, especially when photographing a whitish bird against the sky. Today, the little guy perched cooperatively upon the security fence and preened for several minutes. Cute little fella!
