Psorophora columbiae

This is a very large species of mosquito. Not as numerous here as the Asian Tiger mosquito, but they're around.

This was shot shortly after it started to feed.

The hairs on my leg kind of interfere with the sharpness a bit, which annoys me.

Yeah, I liked the eye focus on these.

It's a she. Only female mosquitoes feed on blood. They need it to create their eggs.
