I agree with your husband, you should wear it. I've seen many people wear Corsets at anime cons that made themselves look really unattractive and quickly brings the thought of "How can you breathe in that thing and wear it THAT tight?". You look quite comfortable and sanely proportionate.
You DO look good. Ideally, suiting like this would be wonderfully cute!
Unfortunately, non-furry passersby often jump to conclusions, especially based on what's been in the media. They might see this and think, "Ewww, furries blah blah DISGUSTING blah." Then again, I'm not sure if that bothers you. Haha, maybe your in-suit mannerisms would allow you to pull it off.
