SANCTIVERSE: Flag of LJ (ORIGINAL FLAG)
INTRODUCTION
LJ, or the Legion of Judgement, is a military with technology outdating today's by hundreds, maybe thousands of years. They are a right-winged, authoritarian force that act as an army of guardians for the shadowy Empire known as "Sanctiverse," which exists in the dimensions lying superior to my OC cast. Though a military faction, LJ boasts a number of humanitarian functions in order to mop up the collateral damage of war and help invaded countries get back on their feet as part of the mighty Empire. Under their watchful eyes, they bring every corner of the omniverse to the light.
This flag was created ages ago, back when the "Legion of Judgement" was "Martial Judgement Corporation" and "Sanctiverse" was "Cruciland." Cruciland and MJC are now their own separate entities, complete with an entirely new Hebrew language system (ie. "Tzaluveretz" and "TLS," respectively) to further differentiate them in my canon.
THE ORIGINAL FLAG
The flag of LJ was a very intricate design. (not drawn perfectly, I know...) This version had many of the elements of it's soon-to-come generations, but lacks several, such as the roundness of the cross, the golden ring surround it, and the golden ring surrounding the white octagon.
THE CRIMSON CROSS
LJ serves as a protector and military force of Christianity, bearing a common "Cross of the Crusader" as its centerpiece to signify the army's duty. It is crimson to represent the sorrow of those soldiers who have died for a greater Earth, the blood of the persecuted, and the knowledge that they are all but blood-bound as brothers. Indeed- the martial organization treats its members like family.
THE CIRCLE OF GOLDEN, CROSS-LIKE SWORDS
Again, this symbolizes their faith, but also represents their roles as warriors and sentinels. It is symbolic of everything the organization lives for; God, guns, government, glory, and growth. The 8 swords encircling the central cross represent the will to guard their beliefs, and stop deserters who may leave it. (which is why they're pointing at the cross)
THE WHITE OCTAGON
The octagon represents the Empire they fight for. It is pure, technological, and sterile of all corruption. The swords and cross inside represents that what these soldiers do is done for their society.
THE TEAL BACKGROUND
The background is symbolic for the ravenous, treacherous sea that surrounds the nation. Beyond it, the world is a wild, hellish place by comparison- regardless of how pure it is, it will never have the purity of LJ and their society. Beyond their walls lay a world that invokes painful images of regret, longing, seething anger, and insanity. They are a stronghold, and everything else a wasteland by comparison.
THE GOLDEN RINGS (Only in the V2.0 version)
The golden rings surrounding the cross and the octagon are barriers against corruption and immorality. In LJ, they are realistic, yet moral at the same time. They have the mind of a scientist and the faith of a monk; the apathy and willpower to ignore nudity, yet the fervor to vehemently oppose carnal sin. The second ring around the crimson Cross represents that their core ideologies will NEVER be tampered with.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is LJ's flag and symbolism in a nutshell.
