Remdale, he's one of my characters, is a shape shifting Wyvern (he's small a subspecies of dragon)
Interesting character. He is a bit of a pervert LOL. But the problem he has in the story I've worked him into is that he is very possibly the last of his kind. And without hopes of even half breed children, he has only two options for continuation of his species, find a female of his kind, or find a special kind of person called a 'Breeder'

Now Breeders aren't like the people who breed cats or dogs or birds, they are humans baring a special birthmark (and there are only one or two of them every generation!) Always female. Long ago a race of Fey (Fairie) where nearly wiped out because of their ability to breed with literately anything, the resulting offspring will be majority of their genetics the father, but one or two will be of the mother. thus keeping their race going. Overtime the group hid among humans til they pretty much became human themselves. So unless they bare that special mark (looks like a rune) which can be found on the breastbone, shoulder, base of scull, bottom of foot, or between the legs, they don't have that ability and all else is just recreation.... No-a-days it's not as extream as it was with the original race, and there are some physical limitations, but for someone like Rem, finding a Breeder can be a life saver.

By chance Rem found one of the girls. (a human girl ended up owing him a couple favors.) the first favor required finding him a book (his appetite for books is likely the only thing that outweighs all else.. food, sleep or sex) Well.. he didn't exactly ASK about the second favor... just sorta.. let himself get carried away. and well, Rem is a mage and fertility spells are dead easy to preform, even without the other person knowing..
Needless to say, the girl finding out she was pregnate with a suddenly over protective Wyvern breathing down her neck (he knows there are ways of stopping an unwanted pregnancy, and well.. things happen. Usually his kind tend to be over protective of pregnate mates for the first couple three months anyway. It's natural instinct)
In Rem's defense (he was just being really stupid) He's actually rather intelligent and logical, but when his instincts are riled up he looses his head because he's never really learned how to deal with them. He lost his mother when he was very small and having no other Wyverns to modle his behavior after, it's been trial and error.. He knows academically about his race, things he's read in books, and knows from things he's done and felt.. but well..
Yea... Needless to say he's only ever really broke down into tears possibly three times since his mother died.
When his mom died.
When he discovered he was possibly alone
And when the one hope of his race's survival and his having a family walked out on him.

LOL but in her defense too.. He never asked and just pretty much went phsyco on her.. Can you blame her for running? He really botched up the whole thing badly...
But things worked out, lol. Just been a rather fun bumpy ride!
