Interesting story behind this one. I have a soft spot for Sebastian's newest character Jade* and started sending him notes asking for more details. Basically, I learned she was a blank canvas and being the nice literary type I was, I started offering suggestions to give her some character.
Eventually he asked if I would write her backstory and after hesitating for a week, I relented and put what came to mind down on paper. Beyond what we discussed, I was essentially given a license to go nuts and well... I did. =P
*For the record, I heard Jade's last name was Demeter. If this has changed, would someone please let me know?

Bio: Jade Demeter has been hefty for as long as she could remember. But in a family where love handles and beer bellies is perfectly normal, she didn’t mind being a little chubby.
On her twelfth birthday however, the maturing vixen suddenly became ill. After a quick doctor’s visit, Jade was diagnosed with a rare medical condition. Unfortunately, it was so rare the doctor had seen nothing like it before in his life. One thing was clear though; her metabolism was now more efficient then anyone before her. Whatever happened to her meant she was truly going to “blossom” now that she reached puberty.
At first her parents thought nothing of it, the Demeters had always been living on the large side of thing so this was nothing new to them. Granted at first she was billowing out a little more then one would expect but that was normal, right? Her family only started became concerned when she weighed in at eight hundred pounds at age fourteen, already two hundred pounds heavier then anyone else in her family. By sixteen, she was half a ton and still mobile. Several doctor visits later, the answer finally became clear.
For several generations, Demeter’s family had been subconsciously collecting genetic traits for obesity. Over that time, they began growing incrementally larger and larger, adding the genes for slower metabolisms, greater stomach capacity, and a nearly insatiable appetite amongst other things to their genetic profile as time went on. All these factors came together in Jade.
On one paw, it meant that Jade was perfectly healthy as she was genetically (albeit accidentally) bred for lard and living large. On the other, it meant that her growth might not be anywhere near done. And already she was known and teased as a “super fatty” by her peers. The depression and rejection drove her into further gluttony, accelerating the rate she grew out.
By the time she graduated from high school, she had reached one ton and was viewed as the most recognizable (and the largest) student in her class. Out of school and feeling like she was out of options, she tried her paw at nearly every job available to someone with a high school education but found her size was either a handicap or a source of discrimination. Her depression and binging taken to new lows, she forced herself to keep smiling for everyone else.
Eventually though, her luck did change and her smile did become real. While applying for a job at a fast food restaurant, she ran into an unlikely duo. The pair was Sebastian Nightingale, the feline owner of a magazine that featured large and larger females for their adorning fans, and Ivan Whitetail, a polite whitetail photographer and author with an interest in the large and unusual.
Intrigued by her appearance, both approached and nearly fought over signing her up for a contract. Ivan lost the bidding fight but still kept in touch with Jade, for reasons others were left to speculate although a slowly blossoming romance between the two of them is a popular rumor in fat admiring circles.

Personality: Jade spent most of her young adulthood being teased and depressed about her mind-boggling size and still has a few downward flukes. However, when in a photo shoot for Sebastian she easily smiles for all her adorning fans on the other side of the camera. As her time with both males went on, her smile took a “You know you want me” appeal, her two biggest fans always the first viewers.
