One of my New Year's Resolutions this year is to draw more dragons. I used to consider them one of my strengths, but then I started drawing canines and dragons were pushed to the back burner. But I love drawing them (even though I'm obviously not very good).

So, in the spirit of that, I'm tried out for one of Arkanfire's Vyrinn dragons over on dA. Her markings reminded me of cooling lava when I first saw them, so I tried to make them look a bit like that. Also, I desperately need more female characters XD I don't think these guys look good in my style, but she was certainly a ton of fun to draw!

Now for a short bio:

Name: Caldera
Age: Mid twenties (I may change this. Do Vyrinn dragons age at the same rate people do or.....?)
Personality: Caldera is quiet and serious. Intelligent and extremely cunning, she will only work with others if she sees it being worth her while. She is naturally quick tempered, but has learned that she needs to be somewhat polite to get what she wants (however there are a couple of things that will really set her off). She isn't afraid to speak her mind and doesn't really care about hurting the feelings of others. In fact, it seems like she will sometimes go out of her way to hurt or scare others (which is incredibly counter productive). Very persistant (if she feels like you've ripped her off she'll hunt you down to the ends of the earth) and persuasive when she wants to be. She is a bit of a scrooge when it comes to financial matters and isn't above thievery to get what she wants.

I'm a bit hesitant to make a back story for her because I don't really know any details about their world. I was thinking about making her a bounty hunter or an assassin for hire or an adventurer of some kind (why yes, I have been playing a lot of Uncharted and Assassin's Creed lately, why do you ask?)

This originally wasn't going to have a background, so she kind of looks like she's floating. We'll just say she's jumping and looking around XD.

think I finally found a shading and inking method that supports my style. What do you guys think?

Ugh I have to find a better way to save my pictures. The colors look so much more vibrant in photoshop......
