A pshyopathic villain that's a little less than unstoppable thanks to this immense control over sound and wave vibrations. He gained the control of sound after experiencing his mother's death before his eyes while under the protection of a superhero; beginning his distain for them. A brilliant and skilled Air-Sylist, he analyzes and breaks his opponents down with brutal attack after attack. It would be foolish to underestimate him just because he wears the "hugging jacket"

Sonus was put in a straight-jacket after destroying half of Sail City (equivalent of Chicago, IL) in a burst of anger 12 years ago.
Due to being technically insane and pshycologically unsound to begin with, the city could not put him to death. Instead, a special prison was erected and he was placed in the asylum, alone. He is the only prisoner residing at the Polauski-Sail Island Asylum for National Threats facility. He has broken out several times for fun, only to sit promptly at the island's shore and await capture so that he could do it again the next week; constantly strengthening his already unfathomable abilities. No he's escaped yet again, with another goal he'd promised himself 12 years ago:

"To destroy all heroes, starting with the pompus hero in green and blue!"

Power: Sound Wave Frequency and Inertia Manipulation
Sonus uses a variation of the basic Air-Style power that some residents of Sail City are able to use. He can pick up on minute resonations of soundwaves in the air and can absorb and break them down harmlessly, or send them back with much more violent force. His power over inertia allows him to become virtually invincible, no matter what is used against him; rendering conventional weapons and attacks useless. However, such an ability has its limits. He can only support the power for one hour continuously.
Actually, the only true way to stop him is to tire him out and overpower his power with sheer force.
In battle, he uses his tail in place of his arms and although he could break out at any time, he refuses to because of the love of an added challenge.

Mini-List of attacks:

Batter-n-Break: Shatter the opponent with an array of devastating sound-based kicks and tail strikes.

Air Shield: Take slightly less damage from an attack with the aid of a spinning air wave.

Cataclysm: Pound the earth violently with tail and cause it to reverbarate. Increase vibrations 100x to produce drastic changes to the landscape.

Dogomba: Dance wildly in circles to invoke a tornado. Up to 5 can be summoned at a time.

Zap-Trap: Cause atoms in the air to violently shake. Fires and lighting strikes become more probrable.

Cold Freeze (Beddy-Bye): Chill the air by dropping the pressure severely, causing light-headedness in opponent.

Kiken Siren: Shatter the air with oppressive soundwaves and send enemies flying. Can be trigged by the slightest hum or foot-tap.

The kanji for "danger" is present on his neck and the kanji for "harm" is present on his shorts.

His first name means "sound" in latin.

He, in actuality, loves the straight-jacket he wears. It simulates his mother's hug and reveals a bit of his sub-consious mind: He may not really hate all life, but instead wants everyone to feel as lonely as he did as a child.

He is his quietest on rainy days. The sound of rain causes him to lament the day of his mother's death.

His mother was crushed under a boulder after pushing him out of its path.

Originally, he generally was in tune with the world, and wanted to be a doctor to help others.

Sonus is far from stupid, despite succumbing to insanity. His IQ is said to be close to 275.
