I've heard so many people say how bad high school is, from a cesspool of the worst that humanity has to offer, from a soulless, hard edged place where there is no refuge from the horrors of human depravity.
I can't help but feel guilty when I remember that I was born into a privileged family and schooling was covered by my dad's company. and therefore, while not having a sublime high school experience, was predominantly worry free.
this is of course, hyperbole of my life. We never had a butler, we had too many maids for for a butler.
we were more or less upper middle class, in a developing country and paid in dollars, which had a high spending power.

I went to a private school too, from kindergarden to high school... everyone was so shallow, so pretentious and despicable...
then I went to a public school and found many more friendly people and friends, even though I was there only for 2 years.
Well, I guess it might be different where I live lol.

I guess it's different. The Private school I went to is more or less for international students of expatriates. So we got students that weren't always rich, but were more from an international background, and thus had relatively public school level kids. So I guess area does count into consideration.
High school destroys you...it shows off the worst that the new generation has to offer. I would go through what high school did to me, but that would be too much of a sob story. I can tell you this...it made it so I can never be myself in public, and pretty much destroyed any and all self-confidence I ever had.
I had a good public schooling and all but one teacher I thought was fine or I liked but the kids. From about perhaps 7th to 10th grade (out of 12) many of them were demons. I did not enjoy school at all social wise, but it doesn't help I'm not a sociable person either so I was a nice target for the more contemptible people that liked making things more difficult for others.
Okay there was a small handful, perhaps less than ten people total, that I had a nice acquaintance with. The thing is we all sat at the "weird kid" table, girl who thought she was a witch, super excitable energetic kid, me who would never talk to others unless spoken to unless I absolutely had to, etc...
It's not that most of the kids were demons of course, but enough of them were that I can honestly say I don't have many fond memories about school.
