This is part of my trade with animus-panthera who is making me an adorable set to keep me warm. X3 This is the fully painted version of the doll parts. Just finished today, i am very excited, i put so much work and detail into this! X3
It has antlers because it's a hunter spirit, originally created by animus for a contest she grew closer to the design which also includes vines running down it's back and winding around it's body and limbs to an extent. ^.^
I have fixed the vines. ^.^

Wow this guy is soooo adorable! I love how nature-y he is <333
You did such an amazing job on getting him to look like a ferret. Too many times have I seen someone plop a mask on a canine and call it a ferret. Otters have that issue too. :c Poor lil mustelids.
I like your color choices, and you get stuff pretty even, but some parts of your painting could be better. For smaller areas, do you have a teeny tiny brush? For the smaller details I like to use a small, pointed brush. Kind of Asian-esque. Around your leaves and cracks in general the paint could stand to be a bit cleaner. :)
I hope you don't mind that small critique! I really love your dolls.
I also really love how you did the fur detailing! It's so cute. xD <3

X3 i used the smallest brush i have, still improving on my sculpting and painting. X3 It looks so much better in person. lol. But yea, i will probably be cleaning it up after i let my eyes rest. where are you seeing messyness? the only place i see it is on the vines where i havent quite met the horns.
The messy places I noticed were on the leaves mostly. The green doesn't reach around to the very bottom, leaving a rim of white there.
Another unrelated thing you might want to try is putting a bit of watered-down dark color in the cracks. Like a dark green in the cracks of the leaf and such.
Though all the tiny, tiny detailing and fixing up takes a long time. It easily takes me as long to paint as it does to make the entire rest of the doll xD I learned by painting wargaming miniatures.

Thanks. I will admit i was just needing a break on the tiny bits (lazeh fat fingers). X3 but i can go back and get those parts. X3 i had cleaned up a bit of the paint already from some area's that went over. This video is also very helpful. X3 I'm not usually very good at taking critique but I respect you and you know what you are doing, and aside from that I know that you are just trying to help. ^.^ thank you.
Yeah I was hoping it wouldn't bug you too much. :9 I'm not the best with crits either, and I have to complain to other people before I can really properly look at a crit and take it at face value. Especially if I don't agree.
It's just so hard when you put so much time and feeling into something so I totally get ya. x3
Your sculpting is at a really high level though, and I just wanted to point out the painting thing. Your stuff's so precious and you're only getting better and better!
And it's definitely mostly the fault of the photos. Everything looks so awful 400x zoomed and with flash. xD I know exactly how that goes. People are always surprised irl when my dolls are so much cuter. It's kind of frustrating. haha
I do think if you watered down your paints a bit more and blended a bit things would look more natural though. :3 Doing a bit of drybrusing with a lighter color over texture really makes all the difference.
Anyway, I do hope I haven't made you feel bad or anything. Art's such a personal thing, so sometimes it's pretty painful to be criticized, but I do so enjoy seeing you getting better and being generally awesome. Your stuff's super cute. :) <33

No problems, truth hurts. ^.^ I should be able to take criticism more, I really didn't have any color reference for this. X3 so i had to do the colors on my own, i got the picture in black and white, very well done though. X3 I will be fixing the vines but as for the rest of it detail wise i will have to let that be until a different project, as times have become harder and money more scarce.
Yeah, it's looking absolutely amazing and cute as-is, I definitely wasn't saying it wasn't!
You're really skilled at this and your work is really cute and recognizable. The person getting this doll is so lucky~
I just thought I'd bring it up as a subject of interest. It's not actually a problem or anything.
Keep up the good work, dear. Good luck with earning money and stuff. Not so easy these days!
