The word "fortune teller" only made me think of a revealing scene early in my aborted attempt at writing a novel. Since it seems I haven't completely given up on the idea, I decided to go ahead and flesh out that scene on paper. It's doubtful anyone will really get what's going on, or the impact of what's revealed, but we'll see.

For reference, Kassa is a cat-person (Kthrand, pl. Kthranti), while everyone else is human. Also, I had to add in a couple acute apostrophes because they weren't showing up correctly in the submission. So just pretend those are over the vowels they follow (there are two).
