They may have been big looking but they had a in-line six in them as I remember that were about 140-160 horsepower. Top speed was about 60 mph as I remember. They were geared more for pulling then speed

The WWII one had a 292 six in them. The later models Jimmy Duce & half they had a 305 cubic inch in-line gas six in them. (I think I have my numbers right) You have to remember most of those trucks were set up to roll at 45 MPH in a convoy.

I remember riding in the back of one of those a few times in my time in the US Army... The ride was like a lumber wagon till you got 8 to 10 people in the back. Did that one have the 8 or 10 foot bed on it?

They were good trucks but if you were getting shot at and you put the pedal to the floor and hold it there the dang motor would blow.
