Heehee, thank you! It's all in the practice you see- First to get the ink started you should scribble a line or two on scrap paper so you don't get any blotchy surprises, then you just lightly(very lightly, to be more accurate) go around the pupil zigzagging with the color of your choice. With practice that pattern will become hard for the eyes to focus on and effectively the viewer won't be able to see the individual lines. This is not actually because of the lines being so light but rather because they're too tangled up to focus on individually. It's much the same idea as modern fabrics; If you view them closely enough you'll recognize a very distinct weaving pattern but when seen from any notable distance there's just too much information to accurately process and your eyes only see a smooth surface.
ahh..i doodled a little today using a regular everyday pen, but now that i know i will happily give what you do a try.
Its so hard to find a spectacular traditonalist like you for example, alot of digital artist for inspiration but no traditionalist for pointers on technique.
